Croft Number 3 in Penifiler is only 3 miles from the main town of Portree with all its amenities and is a perfect base for touring the whole of the island. The closest base to the Cuillin mountain range is Sligachan, roughly 8 miles south.
From the cottage there are also numerous local walks: take a stroll down the croft at the bottom of the garden to the shore where you might spy some otters or the seals basking in the sun. Take a walk to Vriskaig point and view the boats in the harbour opposite or, if you feel more energetic, take a hike up Ben Tianavaig and take in the magnificent scenery up and down the sound of Raasay.
